My Controller does not charge the battery, the low batt led stays lit. This is on DTS 500 motor. I want to know can i fit an external smart charger to the battery if it is connected to the Controller. All the other functions on the motor is working fine. I dont have cash now to spend on a new controller.
Please if you can advise.
Have you tested if the PC Board is giving any charging to the battery?
What you can check :
The fuse on the PC Board, it can cause the "lowbat" led to stay on.
That all the wires connected on your PC Board is making contact.
Please contact us while at the motor or give us your contact details to do a technical.
On our Gate Motors, the fuse will be visible on the PC Board.
If you have a multi-meter, you can check the charging on the battery leads(after the motor has programmed its limits)
There is no fuse on our Garage Door Motors, but you can also check the charging on the battery leads( it must be a 24V battery)
Please provide your contact details, then we can do a technical with you.

I have 2 DTS600 motors that have stopped charging the batteries. I suspect there was a possible surge after a round of load shedding.
The gate motors function normally otherwise.
What are the most common faults for this error?
Would it be possible to provide a schematic to enable test measurements.
I can be contacted via email: email@example.com
You can test via a multi-meter, and it should give you 24 to 27 V DC on the battery leads to show that it is charging the battery.
If it is still not charging the battery, check the wires to the pc board and make sure that it is making good contact.
You can also bring the motor to one of our branches to test
